So, what is Distiller’s Drop?

The Distiller’s Drop range is a series of limited-edition rums hand-selected by our Founder and Master Distiller, Lewis Hayes.

This is an idea we have been developing since we first opened as we lay down an array of experimental casks in our barrel store. Distiller’s Drop gives us the freedom to play, innovate, and push boundaries, exploring different cask types to create something truly unique every time.

Every Drop is a one-off expression, chosen when Lewis believes it’s reached its absolute best.

Distiller’s Drop #001: English Sweet Chestnut

Distiller’s Drop #001 marks the beginning of this exciting new collection of limited-edition rums.

Aged entirely in English Sweet Chestnut, this rum offers a whole new dimension of flavour. It brings a praline nuttiness with hints of vibrant cherry and brown butter that sets this limited-edition rum apart from anything we’ve bottled before.

Lewis recommends enjoying this rum neat, without ice, to appreciate the depth and complexity of the spirit in its purest form.

Not your usual aged rum

Most rums and nearly all whiskies traditionally mature in oak. But for the first Distiller’s Drop, we decided to release something truly unique.

English Sweet Chestnut casks are incredibly rare. Because they’re not used in whisky maturation, they’re almost impossible to find. We partnered with a local cooperage to craft seven bespoke virgin hogsheads, made just for us. Each one is a piece of British craftsmanship, designed to give our rum a distinct and unforgettable character.

What’s next for the Distiller’s Drop range?

Distiller’s Drop #001 is just the start of our exploration. In the barrel store, a growing collection of experimental casks are maturing.

Each Drop will be released only when we decide it’s perfectly aged, with flavour and quality taking priority over timelines. You can expect just a couple of new releases each year, each one unique and unrepeatable.
