Distilled in copper and matured for in American Oak casks, building layers of rich toffee, warm spice and vanilla fudge. One third of the rum was then finished in Scotch Whisky octaves, adding a gentle smokiness that brings extra depth to every sip.

The third limited edition Distiller’s Drop Rum from DropWorks.

Distiller’s Drop is our series of limited-edition, cask-aged rums, each selected from the barrel store by Founder and Master Distiller Lewis Hayes.

Every release explores a different cask, finish or maturation approach, showcasing the flavour possibilities of British-made rum.

For Distiller’s Drop #003, our column distillate spent 29 months in American Oak casks, developing rich, sweet notes of toffee popcorn and vanilla fudge. One third was finished in Scotch Whisky Octaves for six months, bringing a natural smoky character to the final blend.

Blended together, the liquid brings notes of golden toffee popcorn, warming spiced gingerbread and a rich smoky finish.
